Gender Violence:
Development of programs and projects aimed fundamentally at the prevention, care and intervention against gender violence against immigrant women. As the main line of its actions, Minerva carries out, processes of awareness of NO Gender Violence, through workshops, theoretical-practical talks. All activities are carried out based on the action protocol established by current regulations, working in accordance with the entities and social services that act on this social problem. Minerva seeks to create spaces for participation, where women feel welcomed and identified with their life project. In these spaces women strengthen themselves and improve their self-esteem.
The programme is based on three basic lines of action:
- Prevention: Prevention is based on raising awareness of the population towards this problem.
- Detection: Regarding the basic area of detection, it is intended, above all, to make hidden situations of violence emerge.
- Attention: Social, psychological, educational and legal support is offered, as well as attention to basic needs.
Training and Employment:
Minerva’s priority is to design viable strategies that lead to educational enrichment and self- employment, ensuring that women are proactive (entrepreneurs) in work or entering the labor market according to their potential, in companies that optimize the quality of personal and family life. In this way we intend to contribute to a true integral development of women, promoting equal opportunities and prevention against poverty and social exclusion. Objectives:
- Contribute to improving the employability of women and their maintenance in the labor market.
- Sensitize the business community and company managers about the importance of equal opportunities and the reconciliation of work, family and personal life.
- Contribute to overcoming the discomforts of women derived from gender inequality.
- Contribute to reducing the digital divide through the use of information technology and new technologies as a tool for use in everyday life.
Immigration and Integration:
Minerva, in accordance with the current regulations for the participation and integration of immigrants into the host society, permanently conducts multicultural workshops, participatory and co-educational workshops that facilitate the process of integration and improve the adaptation rates of immigrant women and their families to the Italian cultural environment.
Volunteering:
ASOCIACIÓN MINERVA develops a selfless, altruistic, supportive and unconditional work that leads us to improve social conditions for the benefit of the communities that require us at a given time, with a direct or indirect involvement in the projects and programs designed for such end.
Minerva just developed for the university year 2021-2022 in collaboration with University of Forlí a social volunteering program for university students who collaborate in the projects and activities of the entity. Likewise, the program contemplates the participation of university students in practices, who develop their internship in the association and collaborate in the development of the programs.
Sustainable Development:
Minerva promotes fair and sustainable development in all its activities. This means encouraging economic sustainability, leveraging the development of local markets, to generate income and guarantee adequate living standards, ensure fair pay for men and women, promote decent work and contribute to the collective growth of communities. The focus is then on social sustainability, that is to increase the psycho-physical well-being of populations, expanding the conditions of social protection and safety, access to quality education, the enhancement and respect for culture and language; and environmental sustainability, understood as the ability to manage, conserve, restore, enhance, recover and reproduce natural resources,
The 2030 Agenda for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals represents a new global challenge for Minerva, which hinges on the principle of co-responsibility.
